As the residents of Millwood run from A and fight to survive, fans can see which PLL: Original Sin characters have the most courage.

Spoiler warning: The following article contains spoilers for season 1 of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.

After watching episode 4 of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sincalled "The (Fe)Male Gaze," fans noticed that the name Caleb Rivers written on a pill bottle, according to Teen Vogue. This was a great nod to the OG series. The HBO Max reboot has a new A, a slasher story, and fresh characters, and it still feels as binge-worthy as the old show did, thanks to the characters who are full of courage.

Many of the residents of the small town of Millwood, Pennsylvania have shown bravery throughout the five season 1 episodes that have been available so far. When comparing the teenagers and adults who have been put in some scary and emotional situations, some stand out for using lots of inner strength.

Faran Bryant has a crush on her classmate Henry, who she is in ballet class with, and he agrees to investigate Karen/Kelly Beasley after Faran shares that she thinks that they swapped places and Karen is still alive. This takes some nerve, as the twin could just as easily yell at Henry and tell him to leave.

Henry is able to give the twin a foot massage and see that Faran just might be right. If Henry and Faran being dating, they will be a favorite Pretty Little Liars couple. Besides this plan, though, Henry doesn't have a sense of fearlessness like the others.

While A is of course a terrible person for stalking and killing people, he moves forward with his evil plan with the same courage and boldness as other horror villains. When A tries to hurt Noa Olivar midway through season 1, he says it's "revenge" for "sinners," which suggests the motive that he is working with.

A is always everywhere, just like in the original series, whether at school, Noa's apartment building, or at the Halloween party that Imogen Adams throws. He asserts himself into the narrative and makes sure that the others pay attention to him.

Karen's twin Kelly seems like the kinder and more soft-spoken one, although living in Karen's shadow for her entire life has taken a toll. Kelly and Karen come up with a mean plan to embarrass Imogen and Kelly forges ahead despite what she knows in her heart is right.

If Kelly really was the one up in the rafters who A killed, then Kelly showed a huge amount of confidence in her final moments as she wanted to get revenge on Imogen. Kelly goes along with whatever Karen wants, which she seems to regret.

The PLL parents have great storylines, and while viewers haven't seen much of the moms in season 1 of the reboot yet, they do have an important place in the story. Tabby's mom Sidney is a present, loving mother in the first few episodes and she's a brave character, too.

Sidney tries to sell Imogen's house, which is tough since she's working through her own feelings about Imogen's mom Davie's death and her dark memories of the time when Angela Waters died. Sidney bravely moves ahead with her life, even when it's hard.

Fans see a different side of Mouse Honrada in episode 5 "The Night He Came Home." Mouse meets up with an older man named Steve who appears to be grieving a missing daughter. It seems like Mouse sees him regularly and pretends to be her so she can find comfort and peace.

Mouse bravely tries to find more independence as her moms are worried after something went wrong during Mouse's childhood. She sneaks out of the house, meets Ash at a Halloween party, and proves that she's going to start asserting herself more. She's not as brave as some of her new friends, though.

Karen is definitely the braver twin, and if Faran's theory is right and Kelly is the one who fell over the rafters to her death, then Karen's choice to pretend to be her sister is strangely courageous and adventurous while still being a horrible idea.

Karen is the ultimate mean girl and bully, always taking what she wants and ignoring other people's feelings. But Karen and Kelly's dad is verbally abusive and wants them to compete with each other and strive to be the best no matter what. Karen tries to stay strong but inside she's bravely dealing with her emotions and pain over her family life.

Faran is brave like the original PLL characters, and she has a terrible time rehearsing Swan Lake as her teacher is prejudiced, rude, and unfair. Faran shows courage when she agrees to fight back against Karen because she's tired of Karen's harsh comments and of having to prove her talent and worth. Although showing video of Karen in a vulnerable moment is the wrong thing to do, it makes sense that Faran would want to stand up for herself.

Faran doesn't shy away or back down from a challenge, agreeing to star in Tabby's film class project and talking to people about her belief that Kelly is the one who died, not Kelly.

Tabby Hawthorne's decision to screen a video of Karen at the town movie theater isn't as nice or compassionate as Tabby actually is, but Tabby's motives make sense, as she's also looking to stick up for herself. Whether standing up to her co-worker Wes who tries to seduce her or telling off her male peers at a Halloween party, Tabby confidently tells it like it is.

Tabby shows a lot of courage when filming a feminist take on the shower scene from Psycho becomes chaotic and complicated and she wants a safe, caring set where everyone feels welcome. She's one of the most courageous characters because she speaks the truth.

Many scenes in Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin are as scary as some PLL moments. In episode 4, A breaks into Noa's apartment building and chases her around. Noa ends up jumping onto the roof of another building, and it's a heart-pounding, fast-paced scene. Noa shows her bravery in this well-done moment, as she yells at A and does what she can to get through it.

Noa deals with a lot of complex situations that she shouldn't have to be a part of, like hiding her mom's secret, and she also is treated poorly and unfairly by Sheriff Beasely on more than one occasion. Noa holds her head high and feels daring in every scene.

Imogen is definitely the bravest character on the PLL reboot. She talks about being the "teen tragedy of the week" because of her teen pregnancy, but she goes through with it, ignoring the stares and whispers. Imogen is fearless as she looks into her mom's death and wonders how A is connected.

When Imogen goes to an old warehouse and hides as A walks around, she risks dying herself, and at the end of episode 5, she gets a mysterious phone call and agrees to meet a stranger so she can learn more about Angela. It's clear that Imogen is going to get the answers that she needs thanks to her bold actions.
