A CVS-, Walgreens- and Walmart-sold Magnesium Citrate Saline Laxative Oral Solution is being recalled by Smyrna, TN, Vi-Jon, LLC due to reports of serious adverse reactions to the medicine. This saline solution has been sold at various, major retailers nationwide.

According to reports, the company is recalling the product after its third-party microbial testing uncovered the presence of Gluconacetobacter liquefaciens. According to the FDA, those at increased risk for invasive infection induce immunocompromised patents.

The product distributed nationwide to wholesale and retail outlets was packaged in a 10 oz clear, round, plastic bottle and is used for relief of the occasional constipation.

Those with the recalled product are urged to stop use and return any remaining product to the retail store they purchased it. For questions, contact Vi-Jon, LLC at recalls@vijon.com from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
